It is extremely rare for Benjamin Netanyahu to criticise the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) in public. But when a photograph emerged last weekend showing an Israeli soldier smashing a statue of Jesus Christ with a sledgehammer in Debel in southern Lebanon, he had no choice.
